Kitchen Boa or Butterfly Wings?

At our LadySlipper Holiday Party we exchanged gifts as we have done over the years.  We always seem to be amazed by the creativity of the gifts brought. This year one of the gifts that amazed us was a “Kitchen Boa”.  One of our members had seen it at another party and googled it and made one for her exchange gift.

I thought this would be a very handy item and went shopping for kitchen towels and coordinating fabrics and made them for my cookie baking friend and all my children.

Fast forward to my family Christmas.  After all the gifts had been opened my three year old grandson asked to have one of the boas tied around his waist because as he said, “I wanna be a butterfly!”   So his aunt wrapped it around his waist and tied it so the towel was in the back serving as his “wings”!  He then ran around the room like he was flying.  I love when kids use their creativity!

I’m looking forward to utilizing my kitchen boa more during the New Year, although I'm not planning to tie it around my waist any time soon. Well...I may have to rethink that and join him in fluttering around the room!

Wishing everyone a year full of crafty idea!
