New Presence on the Internet for the Ladyslipper NeedleArts Society

This is a new site for Ladyslipper NeedleArts Society to provide information about our organization. We will maintain this site, adding items to our calendar, which is on the bottom of our page, and by posting new blog messages sharing our activities and projects.

Welcome!

Membership Information

As our logo implies our membership consists of women who enjoy all forms of needlework. (Our motto is, “We’ll do anything with a threaded needle!) We like sharing our work at our meetings and teaching each other the skills that we have mastered through the years. We also share our work and techniques at the state fair and at workshops throughout the year and are happy to help out novice smockers and embroiderers. One of our favorite activities is our needlework retreat, often held in late March, when winter is wearing pretty thin! We spend a weekend, (which has gradually spread to five days), chatting, eating, and (oh yeah) doing needlework. We are also proud to participate in the Wee Care program, providing baptismal and burial gowns and wraps for premature infants at our local Twin Cities hospitals. We welcome new members and would love to have you join us in building friendships through the sharing of one of our favorite pastimes – needlework!

Meetings

We meet the fourth Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m. for socializing, with the business meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m. Following our business updates, we have a “show & share” session, break for snacks, and then enjoy our scheduled needlework program. We meet at St. Frances Cabrini Church, located at 1500 Franklin Ave. S.E., Minneapolis. Exceptions to this are our January Service Project Work Day held on a Saturday, July picnic, often held at 6:00 p.m. at Newell Park in St. Paul, and our Christmas party, often held earlier in Dec. at a member’s home.
